Principle of PSA Nitrogen Production

PSA nitrogen production uses air as a raw material, uses the characteristics of selective adsorption of carbon molecular sieve, and uses the principle of pressure adsorption and decompression desorption to separate nitrogen and oxygen in the air.

PSA nitrogen production process

The ambient air is compressed and purified (to remove the oil, water and dust in the compressed air) and then enters the adsorption tower equipped with carbon molecular sieve. During this period, a large amount of oxygen molecules are adsorbed by carbon molecular sieve in a short period of time, while nitrogen molecules are adsorbed very little. A large amount of nitrogen is enriched in the gas phase. Enter the nitrogen buffer tank through the upper part of the adsorption tower, while the oxygen molecules remain in the molecular sieve. The entire adsorption process is carried out under pressure. When the adsorption pressure drops to normal pressure, the adsorbed oxygen molecules escape from the carbon molecular sieve, enter the muffler through the lower part of the tower, and are discharged into the atmosphere, while the molecular sieve is regenerated. Usually PSA nitrogen generator adopts double adsorption towers in parallel to alternately adsorb nitrogen and produce nitrogen, desorb and regenerate, realize the separation of oxygen and nitrogen, and continuously supply gas. The above process is automatically controlled by the computer control system.
